Aboubacar MOUSTAPHA Mining Technical Expert, TotalEnergies


Aboubacar is a graduate of Ecole des Mines de Nancy (France) and holds a degree in mining engineering and computer science. 

He started his career as an Engineer at the Ministry of Mines of Niger where he took part in the project of computerization of the country’s geological database in 1994. He then moved to ExxonMobil where he completed several international assignments in the engineering of fuels and lubricants facilities and provision of technical services to various industries: essentially mining but also power generation, cement, railways, construction, food industry, etc. 

He also acquired meaningful experience in lubricants formulation and production after having fulfilled high level positions in leading blending plants in West and Central Africa: General Manager of SCEFL (Cameroun, 2003-2005) and director of CSL (Senegal, 2006-2008).

He joined TotalEnergies in 2008 and is since a Mining segment Technical Expert for its Downstream Division. 

With over 28 years of experience in the oil industry, Aboubacar has specialized in the design and provision of value-added services to mining operations when it comes to energy management, fuels, lubricants and other petroleum specialties:  Health-Safety-Environment, maintenance of mobile and fixed equipment, energy efficiency solutions, contamination management, consumption monitoring and optimization, supply, distribution, waste management, etc. In addition to his responsibilities in the technical field, he is currently in charge of the local content process for TotalEnergies across Africa.
